ANNOUNCEMENTS
The Fall Meeting was held  on Friday, October 21, 2005 at 5:00 P. M. at the  Friends Seminary.  John Bodel, Professor of Classics and History at Brown University delivered a stimulating lecture: "Elements of the Roman Funeral."
 



The Winter Conference was held with great success on Saturday, February 18th  at Hunter College The even featured four presentations on Homer and Vergil, and  luncheon with great food and lively discussion followed. Here the presentations...

"Hero and Commander: Odysseus and His Crew" -- Dr. Sheila Murnaghan, The University of

"'The Rest is Memory' Homecoming from Nostos to Nostalgia" --  Dr. Corinne Pache, Yale University.

A Recital of Selections from the Iliad (the parting of Hector and Andromakhe) and from the Aeneid (the Confrontaton of Dido and Aeneas). -- Performed by Rachel Kitzinger, Anastassiya Andrianova and Stephen Daitz

Our Spring meeting will be held on Saturday, May 6, Venue TBA. Dr. David Sider of New York University will be our guest lecturer. At this time we will also present awards to this year's scholarship and contest winners.
